The Psalms are frequently quoted in the New Testament. King David's Psalm 14, which is about a world that is yet Satan's world (see Who Still Rules The World Today? and the Fact Finder question below) is quoted in Romans 3:10-12 i.e. "as it is written: 'none is righteous, no, not one; no one understands, no one seeks for God. All have turned aside, together they have gone wrong; no one does good, not even one.'"
"To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none that does good. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any that act wisely [i.e. God's Wisdom], that seek after God. They have all gone astray, they are all alike corrupt; there is none that does good, no, not one.Psalm Chapter 15
Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon The Lord [see YHVH, Adonai, Jehovah, LORD]? There they shall be in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous [see Children Of God]. You would confound the plans of the poor, but The Lord is his refuge.
O that deliverance for Israel would come out of Zion! [see Who, What or Where Is Zion?] When The Lord restores the fortunes of His people, Jacob shall rejoice, Israel shall be glad." (Psalm 14:1-7 RSV)
Zion is far more than just a national capital for the people of Judah alone (see Zionism): "Lest you be wise in your own conceits, I want you to understand this mystery, brethren: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles come in, and so all Israel will be saved; as it is written, "The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will banish ungodliness from Jacob" (Romans 11:25-26 RSV)
"A Psalm of David [King David was the prototype of a far greater King - see Israelite Monarchy - The Messiah]. O Lord, who shall sojourn in Thy tent? Who shall dwell on Thy holy hill?Psalm Chapter 16
He who walks blamelessly, and does what is right, and speaks truth from his heart; who does not slander with his tongue, and does no evil to his friend, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor; in whose eyes a Reprobate is despised, but who honors those who fear The Lord; who swears to his own hurt and does not change; who does not put out his money at interest, and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things [see Daughter of Zion] shall never be moved." (Psalm 15:1-5 RSV)
"For David says concerning Him, 'I saw the Lord always before me, for He is at my right hand that I may not be shaken; therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; moreover my flesh will dwell in hope. For Thou wilt not abandon my soul to Hades, nor let thy Holy One see corruption" (Acts 2:25-27 RSV) is quoting this prophetic, Messianic, Psalm of David.
"A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in Thee I take refuge. I say to The Lord, "Thou art my Lord; I have no good apart from thee." As for the saints [see What Is A Saint?] in the land, they are the noble, in whom is all my delight. Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows; their libations of blood I will not pour out or take their names upon my lips.
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; thou holdest my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
I bless The Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I keep The Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also dwells secure. For thou dost not give me up to Sheol [see Sheol and Hades], or let thy godly one see the Pit. Thou dost show me the path of life; in thy presence there is fulness of joy, in thy right hand are pleasures for evermore." (Psalm 16:1-11 RSV)
